Thank you

Thank you for checking out Jamison’s Tax Consulting.  My name is Virginia.  I moved to the North Bay just this year as a Tax Preparer.  Why the North Bay?  Acquaintances of mine got excited for me when they learned I am a Tax Preparer.  Imagine that.

When I attended a local Rotary meeting and was introduced as a Tax Preparer I received an applause.  Who does that?  Really, the old joke is that only two things in life are certain: death and taxes.  No one applauses for either, or so I thought.

I spent two years as a Tax Preparer working in what I refer to as “Tax in a Box”.  After my first year I learned two things. 1) I wanted to be a Tax Preparer. 2) I did not want to work for a “Tax in a box”. Fortunately I found myself working for a tax in a box again for my second year.  I was determined to learn all I could from this horrendous experience.

I learned about what to do and what not to do when I became my own boss.  This is what I decided what should not be a client’s experience:

You should not present vital documents in a public place.

You should not be interrupted by passerby’s.

You should not be interrupted by telephone calls.

When you call you should not be transferred to the “next available tax agent”.

I also came to appreciate several things that I need to provide the client with the best customer service:

I need to know you to provide you with the best tax service.

I need to be able to control my own calendar to minimize cancellations and rescheduling.

I need to not be prompted by tax software limitations based on company needs to be able to fully support my client.

Having said that I am looking forward to serving you!
